This is a bangle depicting the warrior goddess Durga. She is the consort of Shiva, and is also identified with Parvati and Kali. When the gods were driven from the heavens by the demon Mahishasura and his army, the divine fury that radiated from them all coalesced to give birth to the goddess Durga.
This goddess, born to fight, was endowed with the trident of Shiva, the discus of Vishnu, and the conch of Varuna, with which she vanquished Mahishasura's entire army. This powerful bangle captures her in all her might, with 10 outstretched arms wielding an array of divine weapons.
Despite the dramatic, almost sculpted appearance, the bangle has a smooth, comfortable form that is easy to wear. The sleek, polished lines surrounding the goddess's figure serve to accentuate her powerful presence.
This bangle can be complemented by adding other pieces, such as a Dumru ring or a bracelet representing the demon Mahishasura, to create a layered ensemble that tells the full story of the goddess Durga and her epic battle.
